Mezzotint Etching with Chine Collé
Each of these Featured Prints are relief engravings, using chine collé, a printmaking process for delicate paper.
The chine collé process creates a subtle, colored backdrop to the printed image.
To create these pieces, tissue-thin Japanese paper and Japanese colored inks were used.

The beach called us each day, morning and evening. The water so clear and blue, the sky equally stunning.
The chine collé process results in a two layered paper support: a tissue-thin paper torn to size and a larger, thicker support below.
In chine collé, both the tissue and support sheet are placed on top of the inked plate and run together through the printing press.
This scene was just beyond our alfresco table, enjoying dinner with good friends in Puerto Rico. I captured many photos of the ever changing sky.
On one of our many visits to the North Shore the sky was peaceful, in beautiful shades of pink and blue. I walked along the lake with my sisters in search of the perfect rock.
I recently drove coast to coast for an upcoming photo journal book. Take a look at some of the images from my travels.

Spring brought the most gorgeous tulips this year! The tulips were an amazing apricot to lemon color.
